For 2015’s World Mental Health Day on the October 10th, Stuart Semple worked with The Pod in Coventry to create a city wide event and three location exhibition.
At the Pod, Stuart Semple unveiled the new wall based text piece “An Invitation”. Asking the question “What is your Happy Place?”, the community created responses as banner artworks that were paraded from The Pod through the city to The Screen at Millennium Place. Here the video work “Turn That Frown Upside Down” was viewed.
Then on to Fargo Village, which holds Bob and Roberta Smith’s Centre for Contemporary Art where Stuart Semple’s exhibition “Happy Place” is installed. The parade ended with a Soup Disco provided by Food Union’s soup kitchen and the Coventry based band Batsch.
