We are pleased to announce that this spring, for just 3 days only Stuart Semple will take over the space under the new Hilton Hotel, with a little help from his friends at Flux Framing and South Coast Roast, for a groundbreaking art installation in his home town. The installation, which promises to be a “true first for Bournemouth”, is set to incorporate sculpture, monumental painting and moving image. The project will include a best of his most well known works made during the last decade alongside new pieces made specifically for the exhibition.
Over the 3 days Semple himself will be in residence to paint the facade of the space with his trademark text-based pop work. The action will be reminiscent of his recent intervention at Bulgari Hotel in London during last yearʼs Frieze art fair.
Stuart says, “Iʼm so excited to be able to show some of the bigger bits of my work in Bournemouth. Bournemouth made me, Iʼm proud of where I come from, and Iʼm happy that a lot of my friends and family will finally get to see a show.”
A percentage of all art sales will benefit Dorset Community Foundation – a local charity raising funds for those most in need. By connecting those who want to give back locally to local residents who need help the Foundation has distributed over £1 million pounds in support over the last two years
Exclusively for Bournemouth and this exhibition, Stuart Semple will produce a new limited edition print with Flux, who are based in Bournemouth town centre.
Stuart will also develop a signature coffee in collaboration with South Coast Roast to be sold in a collectible limited edition cup with £1 from each sale going directly to Dorset Community Foundation.
